Fostering Connections November 2023 Newsletter

Dear Fostering Connections Supporters,

I hope you and your family are having a great start to the fall season. In this month of Thanksgiving, I want to express my gratitude to all of our supporters for all you do to support Fostering Connections year-round. Your support helps us to provide opportunities for youth and their families impacted by foster care, adoption, or trauma to have the opportunities, tools, and resources they need to thrive in life.

As many of you know, my grandmother passed away in October from cancer. Some adjustments were made to Fostering Connections programming during the month of October so I could be with my family. Thank you for your condolences and grace during this very difficult time. I miss my grandmother tremendously, but know she is at peace and no longer in pain. My grandmother was a passionate advocate for the welfare of children and arts education. Our family will be honoring her memory through a new Fostering Connections initiative that will be launched in 2024. I look forward to sharing more about this in the coming months.

It has been a busy fall here at Fostering Connections! Our monthly Meet Up events continue to grow in attendance each month. It is wonderful to see so many returning families each month, meeting new families, and seeing the sense of community among our families. In December, we will be hosting a Teen Talk holiday event at the St. Johns Town Center. Learn more about how you can support this event and volunteer in this month’s newsletter.

This fall, in lieu of hosting a fall fundraiser, we are partnering with local businesses and community organizations to host microevents. These events include The Holly Jolly Shopping Spree and the Holiday Backyard Southern Series. These events will support our Foster/Adoptive Family Meet Up events and our Career Readiness Academy class in Putnam County, which will launch in 2024. You can read about these events and opportunities to give support in this month’s newsletter. These fundraising events are vital to supporting the mission and programs of Fostering Connections.

Thank you for all you do to support fostering Connections. I wish you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving.

Kind Regards,

Aubrie Simpson-Gotham
