Fostering Connections May/June 2025 Newsletter

Dear Fostering Connections Friends,

As the school year wraps up, we’re entering one of the busiest and most exciting seasons at Fostering Connections. This time of year is full of energy, growth, and connection, and we’re so grateful to have you with us on this journey.

In recent weeks, we’ve had the honor of attending Children’s Week in Tallahassee, connecting with families at our Foster/Adoptive Family Meet Ups, and hosting meaningful conversations at our Teen Talk. Looking ahead, we’re preparing for a full calendar of summer programming that includes:

• Four Career Readiness Academy cohorts in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Palatka, and DeLand, offering teens impacted by foster care the tools, skills, and confidence to succeed in the workplace

• Teen Talk at Daytona Lagoon, providing teens with peer support, fun, and meaningful connection

• Attending another Florida Youth SHINE State Quarterly Meeting in July, bringing youth advocates together from across the state

• Our annual Foster/Adoptive Family Summer Social, a joyful celebration of community

We’re also seeking volunteers and supporters to help make these programs possible. You can support our efforts by:

• Providing lunch or speaking at a Lunch and Learn during a Career Readiness Academy cohort

• Assisting at the Summer Social to help us create a welcoming space for families

• Serving as a chaperone during Teen Talk, offering encouragement and connection

However you choose to support, please know your partnership makes a real impact. Because of you, we’re able to create opportunities for youth, strengthen families, and build a stronger, more connected community.
