



Become a Volunteer!
Fostering Connections volunteers are passionate advocates for youth and their families impacted by foster care, adoption or trauma. They support the mission and programs of Fostering Connections through volunteerism, fundraising, and advocacy.

Requirements:
-
At least 16 years old.
-
Reside or work in any of the counties we serve ~ St. Johns, Duval, Putnam, Flagler or Volusia.

Passion for helping youth and families impacted by foster care, adoption, or trauma.
-
Pass a background check.

Current Volunteer Opportunities
​
Individual Volunteer Opportunities:​
- Teen Talk: Assist with activities during Teen Talk events, social events held around the region for teens in grades 6-12.​​​​

- Jacksonville Family Empowerment Night: Volunteer Roles include Set Up & Registration, Dinner & Family Engagement Assistants, Parent Training & Enrichment Assistants, Clean Up

- St. Augustine Family Empowerment Night: Volunteer Roles include Set Up & Registration, Dinner & Family Engagement Assistants, Parent Training & Enrichment Assistants, Clean Up

- Career & Life Skills Jumpstart: Volunteers will supervise and ensure the safety of teens during activities. Assist with setup, cleanup, and event logistics. Provide support to event facilitators for youth in grades 6-12.

Group Volunteer Opportunities:
- Jacksonville Family Empowerment Night: Provide and serve a meal and treats for up to 30 children and their caregivers.
​
- Teen Talks: Fill Swag Bags for Teen Talk events or host a Teen Talk event.
​
- Career Readiness Academy: Lead a course activity, give a tour of your company and presentation to our students, provide a job shadowing experience for students, or serve on the career panel presentation for students.​
​

Finance: Advise on the annual budget and ensure the overall financial sustainability of Fostering Connections.​
