Become a Volunteer!

Fostering Connections volunteers are passionate advocates for youth and their families impacted by foster care, adoption or trauma. They support the mission and programs of Fostering Connections through volunteerism, fundraising, and advocacy.

Requirements:

• At least 16 years old.

• Reside or work in any of the counties we serve~ St. Johns, Duval, Putnam, Flagler or Volusia.

• Passion for helping youth and families impacted by foster care, adoption, or trauma.

• Pass a background check.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

Individual Volunteer Opportunities:

​

- St. Johns/Jacksonville Foster/Adoptive Family Meet Up Coordinator: Plan and oversee activities for this monthly Meet Up event for Foster/Adoptive families with children in grades Pre-K-5.

​

-Teen Talk Chaperones: Assist with activities during Teen Talk events, social events held around the region for teens in grades 6-12.

​

-Career Readiness Academy Table Coaches: Assist a small group of  grades 9-12 students with course activities.

​

-College Readiness Academy Table Coaches: Assist a small group of grades 9-12  students with course activities.

​

Group Volunteer Opportunities:

​

-St. Augustine Foster/Adoptive Family Meet Ups: Provide and serve a meal  and treats for up to 30 children and their caregivers.

​

-Teen Talks: Fill Swag Bags for Teen Talk events or host a Teen Talk event.

​

-Career Readiness Academy: Lead a course activity, give a tour of your company and presentation to our students, provide a job shadowing experience for students, or serve on the career panel presentation for students.

​

-College Readiness Academy:  Lead a course activity.

​

Marketing & Events: Assist with website management, social media management, and graphic design. Assist with planning our signature fundraiser, Night of the Arts and micro event fundraisers.

​

Programming: Assist with Foster/Adoptive Meet Ups, Teen Talks, Career Readiness Academy and College Readiness Academy planning.

​

Development: Assist with fund development, donor engagement and grant writing.

​

Finance: Advise on the annual budget and ensure the overall financial sustainability of Fostering Connections.
