Fostering Connections is thrilled to announce that we are sponsoring and launching a Florida Youth SHINE chapter in Jacksonville! Florida Youth SHINE is a dynamic, youth-run organization dedicated to empowering and inspiring current and former youth in foster care or those who have experienced homelessness.  FYS Jax leadership activities for Duval County youth are supported in part by Kids Hope Alliance, empowering lived-experience leaders to advocate and thrive.

If you’re between the ages of 13-26 and have firsthand experience with out-of-home care, such as foster care, group homes, adoption, non-relative care, reunification, or are or have experienced homelessness, we’d love to have you join our FYS family. Join us for our next Chapter Meeting on Saturday, August 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at The Performers Academy, 3674 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. This time change is only for the August meeting. The meeting usually runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Breakfast will be served, and caregivers are welcome to attend.
