Celebrating Creativity and Community: Enter the Art of Family Contest and Awards

We are thrilled to announce the Art of Family: A Celebration of Connection & Community Students & Families Art Contest and the Art of Family Community Awards, two exciting opportunities to honor creativity, talent, and dedication within our community. These initiatives are a key part of our Art of Family Gala on March 7, 2025, which celebrates foster and adoptive families while fostering community connections and raising funds to support Fostering Connections’ mission.

The Students & Families Art Contest invites youth, teens, and families impacted by foster care or adoption to showcase their creativity.

Contest categories include Youth (Pre-K to 5th Grade), Teen/Young Adult (6th Grade to Age 26), and Families (collaborative art pieces). Participation is free, with Fostering Connections providing canvases and paints thanks to a generous sponsorship.

Completed artworks will be displayed at the Art of Family event, where judges will evaluate submissions based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and execution. Awards include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category, as well as the Judge’s Choice Award and the People’s Choice Award. Winners will receive prizes such as complimentary event tickets, placement in the Art of Family Calendar, custom shirts featuring their artwork, and trophies.

The People’s Choice Award winner will also be featured on the calendar cover. The contest timeline is as follows: registration opened on November 1, and entries are due by January 31, 2025. Online voting begins February 3, with winners announced at the gala on March 7.

The Art of Family Community Awards recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to child welfare and the mission of Fostering Connections.

Award categories include Foster Parent of the Year, Adoption Excellence Award, Child Welfare Employee of the Year, Advocate of the Year, and Community Champion. Winners will receive trophies, two complimentary event tickets, and a discount on table sponsorships to invite additional guests. Nominations opened on November 1 and will close on January 31, 2025. Judges will review nominations in early February, with winners notified by February 7.
