So many wonderful things are happening here at Fostering Connections! There is programming happening for foster and adoptive families with kids of all ages. We have two monthly Foster/Adoptive Family Meet Ups for families with younger children. This month, we are launching quarterly Teen Talks, social events for teens impacted by foster care or trauma. Registration is open for Career Readiness Academy and spots are filling. This is an incredible opportunity for teens ages 14-18 impacted by foster care or trauma to learn valuable job, career, and life skills while receiving a $300 stipend and brand new laptop computer. Night of the Arts, our largest annual fundraiser, is on May 13! Our Marketing & Events team has been working hard to make this the best Night of the Arts event yet! There is still time to support Night of the Arts through sponsorship, donating an auction item, or attending the event. The deadline to guarantee placement on event signage is Friday, April 14. More information about Night of the Arts can be found in the newsletter.
I am so excited to announce that Fostering Connections is a finalist for a $30,000 grant from the CareSource Foundation! If we are to receive the most votes during the public voting period, we will receive a $30,000 grant to build a digital learning platform to be able to bring our Career Readiness Academy program to thousands of teens across the state of Florida. Receiving this grant will support our capacity building as an organization tremendously. You can help us receive $30,000 by voting once a day through April 12.
There are many ways to support Fostering Connections this spring; voting daily for us to receive a CareSource Foundation grant, participating in our Night of the arts fundraiser through sponsorship, donating an auction item, attending Night of the Arts, becoming a monthly donor or volunteering at our programs.
