Dear Friends of Fostering Connections,

As we step into spring, I find myself reflecting on the power of connection—and how essential it is to everything we do at Fostering Connections.

Our Art of Family Gala was more than an event—it was a celebration of community, resilience, and the belief that every young person deserves to feel supported, seen, and prepared for their future. I am deeply grateful for each of you who made that evening so meaningful.

This season represents momentum for our organization. Across our programs, we are seeing young people step into their voices and their potential in powerful ways. Through our Florida Youth SHINE chapter, youth are not only sharing their stories but actively shaping conversations and advocating for change. In March, they wrote letters to local legislators—an important step in helping them realize that their voices matter.

At the same time, our Teen Talks continue to create space for something just as important—connection, belonging, and joy. These moments may seem simple, but they are foundational. When young people feel safe, supported, and connected, they are better able to grow, lead, and thrive.

We are also preparing for a busy and impactful summer with our Career Readiness Academies, where youth will gain practical skills, confidence, and exposure to new opportunities. Alongside this, our Family Empowerment Nights continue to bring families together—strengthening relationships and building a sense of community that lasts far beyond a single event.

Every program, every conversation, and every opportunity we create is rooted in one goal: ensuring that youth and families connected to foster care feel empowered, supported, and equipped for what comes next.
