Dear Fostering Connections Supporters,
I hope you and your family are having a great summer! It has been a busy summer here at Fostering Connections!
Career Readiness Academy sessions have been held in South Daytona at the Guardian ad Litem office and in DeLand at the Lions Clubhouse last month. Sixteen Volusia County students have participated in our Career Readiness Academy program this summer. It has been wonderful watching each student grow in their Career Readiness skills. The students have been very engaged, eager to learn about career possibilities, and begin planning for their future. I am excited for students to begin their job shadowing and internship experiences! Thank you to Fostering Connections volunteer Audrey White, Advisory Council member Kelley Shirazi, and Guardian ad Litem Volunteer Recruiter Beth McKiernan for volunteering and supporting our Career Readiness Academy program.
Back to School Bash is coming up on August 6th. Over 200 backpacks filled with school supplies have been requested this year from all of the counties we serve! Learn about how you can help fill a backpack and support Back to School Bash in this month's newsletter.
Fostering Connections has been able to support over 80 children and young adults this year! Your donations are making a difference for youth impacted by foster care or trauma throughout Northeast Florida.
Thank you for all you do to support Fostering Connections. I look forward to connecting with you soon. I hope you and your family have a safe, fun summer!
Kind regards,
Aubrie Simpson-Gotham
