Dear Fostering Connections Supporters,
It is hard to believe that it is November! The 2022 year has sure flown by!
This month, we as a nation thank our veterans for their service . Thank you to our veterans for your service to our country. I'm proud to be the wife of a US Marine Corps veteran.
During the Thanksgiving season, we reflect on our many blessings and spend time with family and friends. I am so glad to be celebrating Thanksgiving with my whole family this year for the first time in three years. I hope you are able to enjoy time with family and friends (and delicious food!) on Thanksgiving.
As the 2022 year ends, things are staying busy here at Fostering Connections with programming and events. Fall educational programming has concluded. Our Foster/Adoptive Family Meet Up at Ready Set Play will continue to meet through December. This month, we are launching our annual Holiday Gift Drive for foster families. Stay tuned for information on how to sponsor a child this year!
Foster Friends 5Kish & Fun Run is on Saturday at Beachwalk Club! Many thanks to all of our sponsors, volunteers, and participants for our support this year. It is going to be a great race! If you aren't able to join us at the race this year, there are still opportunities to support Fostering Connections this holiday season. We are so excited to be the beneficiary of the Holly Jolly Shopping Spree on November 19 in uptown St. Augustine. Chef Tyrone's fundraiser for Fostering Connections that had to be postponed due to Hurricane Ian has been rescheduled as a Holiday Backyard Barbecue fundraiser on December 11 at the Classic Car Museum of St. Augustine. Read more information in our newsletter about how to get involved.
Thank you to our board members, council members, donors, volunteers, and community members for all you do to support Fostering Connections year round. Your support is a bright light for youth impacted by foster care or trauma. I look forward to seeing you soon at our Holiday events! I wish you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving.
Kind Regards,
Aubrie Simpson-Gotham
