Dear Friends of Fostering Connections,
Fall is officially here, and I hope you and your families are enjoying the season’s start and stayed safe during Hurricane Helene. Here at Fostering Connections, it’s been a busy and exciting time filled with exciting developments and community engagement.
We’re thrilled that our Foster/Adoptive Family Meet Up events have been at full capacity each month, and we’ve officially launched our Florida Youth SHINE Greater Jacksonville Chapter. We were also proud to be the beneficiary of a successful Kendra Gives Back event at the Kendra Scott St. Johns Town Center store. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us—it means the world to our team and those we serve!
Due to Hurricane Helene, the Big Dill Pickleball Classic, originally scheduled for September 27-29, has been rescheduled for October 11-13. We’re excited to partner with the St. Augustine Sunrise Rotary for this event and look forward to seeing everyone in action on the courts!
This fall, we also welcomed two wonderful new board members, bringing fresh energy and ideas to our team. Meet Kim and Brandon in this month's newsletter!
Looking ahead to October, we have a mix of activities for families, community engagement, and development:
Foster/Adoptive Family Meet Up at Playful Family
Teen Talk at Fellow Earthlings Rage Room, including splatter paint
Holiday Drive sign-up for Fostering Connections families opens on October 1st
Additionally, we have two microevents coming up:
The rescheduled Big Dill Pickleball Classic in St. Augustine, October 11-13
HarFest4 on October 12 in Jacksonville’s Springfield neighborhood—this event is family-friendly and free for the community to attend.
As Fostering Connections continues to grow, we have volunteer opportunities available in both programming and development. You can find more details about how to get involved in this month’s newsletter.
Stay tuned for even more event announcements, and keep an eye out for our exciting plans for 2025! Thank you for your continued support and partnership. I look forward to seeing you at our events this fall.
Warm Regards,
Aubrie Simpson-Gotham
