Dear Fostering Connections Supporters,
I hope you had a restful Labor Day weekend! We are off to a strong start this fall at Fostering Connections. In August, we launched our reimagined Family Empowerment Night, bringing foster, adoptive, and kinship families together for dinner, connection, and enrichment. Our teens also enjoyed a back-to-school Teen Talk, and our Florida Youth SHINE Jacksonville Chapter is preparing to attend the DCF Children & Families Summit this month.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to share the October launch of our new Career & Life Skills Jumpstart program. This pilot extends the impact of Career Readiness Academy into the school year with shorter, hands-on workshops—making essential workforce and life skills training more accessible.
September is also filled with fun ways to support our mission:
Sip & Shop at J. McLaughlin – Sept. 12, 2–5 p.m.
Kendra Gives Back at Kendra Scott – Sept. 13, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
The Big Dill Pickleball Classic – Sept. 27–28
And please save the date for our Art of Family Gala 2026 on March 6, 2026, at Deerwood Country Club. Empowering Youth & Building Brighter Futures: An evening to support foster and adoptive youth across Northeast Florida.
There are many ways to get involved this fall—volunteer at Family Empowerment Night, sponsor a meal, purchase art supplies from our wish list, join the Gala Committee, or become a monthly donor.
Thank you for standing with us to build brighter futures for youth and families impacted by foster care and adoption.
In Partnership,
Aubrie Simpson-Gotham
