Fostering Connections St. Johns October 2021 Newsletter

Dear Fostering Connections St. Johns Supporters,

Fall is here! It is the season of cooler weather, pumpkin flavored everything, and visits to local farms. My husband Steve and I have already begun our weekend visits to local farms to get fresh produce and the perfect pumpkins. I love this time of year!

It is a busy fall here at Fostering Connections St. Johns! We have resumed our in-person fall programming with social distancing precautions. Our programming this fall includes Arts classes for children and teens, Grands & Caregivers Support Group for relative and nonrelative caregivers, and Soft Skills classes for our Career Readiness Academy students. It has been wonderful seeing our families in person enjoying fellowship, creativity, and learning . I look forward to seeing our programs continue to grow this fall.

We are so excited about our upcoming Foster Friends 5K & Fun Run! It is a going to be such an amazing day to bring your friends and family and gather in your favorite 90's attire to run, jog, or run to support essentials and educational programs. Many thanks to Anderson Realty for being our Title Sponsor & Race Chairs for all you are doing to support the race and all of our sponsors.

With the in-person 5K and Fun Run and the virtual 5K option, there is an opportunity for everyone to participate! Race registration is $30 for the 5K, $15 for the Fun Run, and $40 for the Virtual 5K until November 5. Please register by October 18 to guarantee a race t-shirt.

You can enter the code FRIENDS at registration for a $5 discount.

There is still time to sponsor Foster Friends 5K! The deadline for sponsorships to guarantee placement on the race t-shirts is October 18. We are so excited to see all of our Foster Friends on November 6!

Our volunteers have started planning the annual Holiday Party for foster families. Stay tuned for more information in our November newsletter and social media.

Thank you for all you do to help uplift local children impacted by foster care or childhood trauma. I look forward to connecting with you soon!
